9. Can I/do I have to bring a date to the wedding?

Your invitation will indicate if you are invited to bring a guest with you or not. If you're engaged, married, or have been dating someone for a long time, it's likely that you will be invited to bring your significant other. It's difficult to decide to bring a new beau to a wedding when you're a bridesmaid: unless he knows other guests, he'll have to spend a lot of time alone. Use your best judgment. For single ladies, having to produce a date can be stressful but not bringing one can make the slow songs seem like a drag. Remember that there's no shame in going alone and that weddings can be a great place to meet someone. Plus, as a member of the wedding party, you'll automatically have all the other members of the bridal party to hang out with.
